View from The Shard, London
I highly recommend traveling during the off-season. I doubt you'd be able to get uninterrupted views up here like this during summer, when throngs of people are here day and night.
I was terrified to go up here. I am very scared of heights, I get vertigo and my legs revolt and shake! I can't even really climb a ladder.
However - I've always been about facing my fears. I laugh in the face of them! So, up I went. (It helps so much that I was with my husband. His support and calm always, always, secures me <3)
Once you get up there - there is some magnificent music playing quietly in the background. It's quite glorious actually, and fitting to this otherworldly view. Within 10 minutes I was fine. My butterflies were gone, my legs stopped shaking and I could even look straight down. It was wonderful!
We enjoyed the sunset and stayed quite awhile.
