This house is just waiting for a Horror film...
On the same day that we discovered the Buford Battlefield we drove past this place. I was hoping we'd see it again and sure enough, on the way home (we used Waze to get us home, it's rather delightful) we passed it again. I asked my husband to stop so I could get a shot - I absolutely *love* abandoned places, and particularly ones that used to be grand. I really wanted to go roaming around inside (despite the Private Property sign, I just roll a little naughty that way) but we didn't have the time. I also admittedly was a little spooked - I mean, you never know what you're going to find in a house like that. It was out in the country, sure - but to me that made it have even more potential :)
It's too bad there is absolutely nothing around the area at all besides farms, because it looks like if it was ever fixed up, it would be a gorgeous B&B, with a history.
I really wonder what those pointy poles are on the roof, and the only thing I could come up with was a lightning rod. But why three? And that just gets my imagination going bonkers.... like some kind of Frankenstein basement needed the energy? Muahahaha!
