Long Meg... Stone Circle in Cumbria
I wrote a thing about Long Meg and her Daughters, months ago. The folklore associated with the site and local stories. But it's on my other website.... that's unfinished. I am uncertain how to proceed. That page is complete. The site is up, it's working, it just isn't complete. The content that I'm filling in is a work of months, if not years and certainly the photography aspect is going to take years. It's more like a Work-In-Progress... a living site, than something that I can put a rubber stamp on.
So instead of telling the stories I've already written, I'm giving the promise of a website that I may or may not unveil soon.. or later... :) It will be the work of my life for the next decade, if not longer. (Indeed the expansion possibilities are endless) so as long as I can research, study and take photographs, I can keep adding content.
In any event, this day was spectacular. I could not have asked for a better sky from Cumbria.
Third largest stone circle in Britain, this is. <3 A road goes right through it. An unnamed dirt track, but a road all the same. It's expansive and peaceful and right in the middle of farms on all sides. It's rather glorious.
I'm going to save the other photos for the other site. I was there taking the photographs for that site anyway, not for this maundering travel/photography blog ;)
