Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, but also discuss history, folklore and films and books. Hope you have a nice stay!

Castlerigg Stone Circle

Castlerigg Stone Circle

Yet another section from my other website that I'm just throwing here with a quick "Yes, it's neolithic and magnificent" because I'm not quite ready to unveil my other site.  I don't know when I'll be ready (even though it's live and can be found with clever googling, it's indexed) but it's still my secret work, in a way :)

In any event, I've been here twice, now - Castlerigg is the second largest stone circle in Britain and the site it resides on is truly magnificent.  It rests under the magisterial dominion of Blencathra, but it's cupped in a valley, right in the center.  When you stand on the site and look all around in a 360 circle, you can really get a sense of place.  It absolutely has a feel to it.

Saving the rest of the pics for my other site :p

Also- My husband surprised me for my birthday with the brand new Canon EF 11-24mm -- it's So crisp and clear and I cannot *believe* how little distortion there is compared to the 16-35mm I had been using.  I kinda don't need the 16-35mm now... at all... :D :D :D
