Returned from Dartmoor
We are back from our short weeklong trip to the UK - this time we roamed Dartmoor (again), Wiltshire and the surrounds, creeping up a little into the Cotswolds. I feel a bit sheepish that I have not finished sharing my adventures into Scotland yet before going on this trip and having even more to share now!
This is Week Down Cross, some of them date back to medieval times. They are waymarkers for boundaries in Dartmoor. This one marks the track from Moretonhampstead to North Bovey in Chagford. There are hundreds of such crosses ranging all over Dartmoor.
I generally like to share my photo adventures in chronological order, but at this point I've got such a back log, I'm just going to do my best to even get it on the site!
Dartmoor was spectacular, but we only had a couple of days... and the weather was not with us. We wanted to visit some of the more remote Stone Circles but I think those adventures will be for when we actually reside in England and have the time to take 8 mile hikes into the remote moor :) Since we love to see as much as possible, taking up one whole precious day to see just one thing seems like a waste when we have to pack as much as possible into two days whilst we are there.
I think the most exciting thing to happen though was coming away unscathed from a cow's charge! But that's another story for later on ;)
