Your Squarespace hosted images are not getting indexed by Google
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
If you pay and use Squarespace - your images mostly likely are not being indexed by search engines.
Yes, some of your images *might* be indexed. But I've got the word from their own mouths they _know this is an issue_ and it will be fixed _in a future release_ sometime... with zero ETA.
I could tell the whole story here, and it would be a long and arduous read. But Google Webmaster Tools _does not lie_ and the error after error after error from that poor hardworking Googlebot isn't a lie, either. (And what's more, I am not even remotely the only person with this huge disastrous problem.)
I just find it *disgusting* that a paid webhosting platform cannot get this right. I use WordPress as well and it's _perfectly_ indexed. My stats are CRAZY awesome for my WordPress site. Admittedly it's super niche so of course I hit the right audience but still, every inch of my WordPress site is perfectly indexed. Every single image down to the comment avatars.
I want to use Squarespace - because it looks so good! Ease of use, too - it's got a clean and efficient back end compared to WordPress. But holy hell. This is a LARGE embarrassment for Squarespace. They want to play with the big boys and make Super Bowl commercials with Celebrities using their platform -- and they fail to provide the most BASIC and important service imaginable to their paying customers?
I've paid hundreds if not thousands of dollars of hosting fees over the years to Squarespace. I've worked days and weeks of my life on my blogs there, not to mention all the time it took me creating the content for it. It has been a complete waste of that time - since it's been sitting in the ether, searchable by no one.
